Chapter 28: Eyes on the prey (2)

Once out of the hotel, Fu Chen drove an SUV to lead her to wander around Huancheng.
Before the outbreak, the streets of the city had been full of flowers and the scenery had been beautiful but now it looked desolate with abandoned vehicles and flying paper bags.
Rotting corpses could also still be seen in some parts, with flies buzzing around them.

Every zombie appearing in front of them was directly hit by the car and Bai Qingqing realized Fu Chen’s mood was not very good.
Observing the stupid zombies that were chasing the car, she couldn’t help but wonder if she would not only be able to control plants and animals but also zombies.
If she could have the zombies help her open a wasteland and farm, cut trees, fish, pick fruits… how convenient would it be! The strawberries in her space were ripe and she hadn’t finished picking them all up after two hours.

Fu Chen glanced at her and noticed she looked sad.
He asked: “What are you thinking about?”

“Zombies.” Bai Qingqing blurted out. 
Fu Chen looked at the zombies through the rearview mirror: “I can deal with these low-level zombies, don’t be afraid.”
Bai Qingqing replied: “I’m not afraid.” She then asked him: “Brother, can you control zombies?”
Fu Chen shook his head: “Mental attacks are not effective on them.”
“Because they have no brains?” She immediately reached this conclusion.

Fu Chen paused and nodded slightly, as he drove the car into the parking lot of a shopping mall.
He got out of the car and sorted out the zombies that were still following and opened Bai Qingqing’s door to lead her inside.
Currently, Fu Chen’s strength was the best in this doomsday world; with dual level 4 abilities, Bai Qingqing was not afraid of wherever she went with him.

On the first floor of the shopping center were supermarkets and restaurants, on the second floor were women’s clothes and cosmetics, on the third floor were more restaurants and various clothing stores and on the fourth and fifth floor were located the electronics and other movie stores.
Bai Qingqing looked at the map at the entrance of the center and eagerly prepared for a big free shopping spree.

Because it was daytime, the mall was brightly lit.
Some stores had open doors and some didn’t and there was no sign of anyone but the two of them in the building.
Zombies didn’t like to appear during the day and even if they did, their mobility was greatly reduced and they were killed by Fu Chen as soon as they showed up.
Bai Qingqing was lost in thoughts for a moment and suddenly asked: “Brother, can you use your lighting ability to charge electronics?”
Fu Chen looked at her: “What do you want to do?”
“I want to play with a phone.” Bai Qingqing pulled him in a coquettish manner, “Let’s go get one!”
It was too boring during the apocalypse and even if she had grabbed a lot of games before, she still wanted a phone.
There was no service anymore but as long as she had power, she could play offline games.

Fu Chen took her to the electronics store.
Huacheng’s power system had not been completely destroyed yet and he turned on the light to check what was inside.
Bai Qingqing followed him and glanced at the glass counter.
An expensive rose gold phone attracted her eyes and she took it out before putting it in the space.
She then looked at the other devices and decided to grab the ones that were not broken for the time being.
She collected a bunch of electronics and other appliances and put them all into her portable space.
She had grabbed some batteries before in Jiang City but they usually ran out very quickly.
To save power, they couldn’t use the electricity more than absolutely necessary in their car.
Bai Qingqing thought it would be good to search for more batteries so she could use her appliances more frequently in the future.

Seeing she had finished raiding the electronics store, Fu Chen took her to the supermarket to gather supplies and they collected more than half of the available items there. 
The two of them planned to stay in the mall longer to continue searching for anything valuable.
Bai Qingqing pulled the cart from the supermarket, sat in it, and said to Fu Chen: “Brother, push me.”
Fu Chen: “…”
Bai Qingqing had long been thinking about it but had always felt too embarrassed to have someone push her in public.
But now, only Fu Chen and she were in the mall and she was not ashamed to play as much as her heart desired.
She needed to experience the refreshing feeling of sitting in a cart as she bossed her fake brother around!

Fu Chen didn’t move and Bai Qingqing urged: “Brother, please push me to play.”
Fu Chen walked over in silence, grabbed the handle of the cart, and pushed forward as Bai Qingqing excitedly pointed to a store: “Let’s go take a look!”

Fu Chen quickened his pace and the two of them stopped in the jewelry area, where Bai Qingqing stared at a pink diamond ring in the glass counter.
“Want?” Fu Chen took it out for her.

The pink diamond exuded a bright light on her white skin; it looked very beautiful and Fu Chen glanced at it twice.

After the two of them finished searching the whole shopping mall after several hours, they returned to the hotel.
Shen Mingxuan and Xiao Yang had also completed their punishment and handed the core to Liang Zhiyu for processing, before going back to their respective rooms.
Bai Qingqing wanted to comfort Xiao Yang gently when Cheng Rui came out of his own room and told her: “Bai Qingqing, come change my dressing and apply the medicine.”

Because she had been playing outside, before Cheng Rui had come out, she had completely forgotten about this matter.
She quickly got up, grabbed his arm, and said: “Liang Zhiyu said you shouldn’t walk around.
Go sit.”
Fu Chen stared at her hand on Cheng Rui’s skin.

Liang Zhiyu had asked him if he needed help but he had refused and said he would wait for her.
Liang Zhiyu had narrowed his cunning fox eyes, as if he had seen through him, and smiled.
Cheng Rui’s character was determined and unwavering.
He was action-orientated and Bai Qingqing had not accepted Xiao Yang’s crush when he had revealed it.
Males were born to compete for the object of their affections, only then would he have the right and qualification to get her favor.
Bai Qingqing didn’t know about the twists and turns in Cheng Rui’s heart and did her best to brush her goodwill.
She gave him the medicine and when she saw him frown slightly, she immediately asked: “Am I hurting you?”
Cheng Rui pursed his lips: “It doesn’t hurt.”
