The Bahamas

Senior Trip in the Bahamas

145 catholic high school students from Lafayette, La at an all inclusive resort in the Bahamas = Drama.

Senior Trip, If only anyone could remember it.

Senior Trip is a phenomenal tradition. I am so glad that someone decided to put together a trip for the high school graduates to go and let loose before their four years of college.

Learning To Fly: Parasailing in The Bahamas

High above the waters, off the coast of The Bahamas, thrill-seekers take to the sky for an unprecedented view. Parasailing is sure to raise your heartbeat as you take in the cool air above the blue waters of the Caribbean. It’s an activity enjoyed by young and old alike, requiring only a small fee and a sense of adventure. On the Island

Market Square in Port Lucaya

This is where the action is every night during Spring Break in the Bahamas. All the students from the surrounding hotels will taxi or walk their way to the Square almost every night. It features an open stage in the middle of the square with a D.J. and hundreds of dancing students. The square is ringed with bars and the most popular drink is a bucket of rum punch. This is one of the few places where the actual bar makes almost no difference because most of your time will be spent roaming around the square. Just poke your head inside a bar long enough to get a drink and get back to dancing.

Xanadu Hotel

It has several dining options: Casurina Cafe & Bar for informal Freeport Bahamas dining; Escoffier Grill Room for fine Bahama dining as well as other Bahamas food and beverage options available at Port of Call, After Deck Lounges and the Ocean Front Bar & Grill.

Another cheap hotel that is a favorite of Spring Breakers.

Xanadu

In 2005 when a group of friends and I went this place was really bad, but I’ve heard the rumor that it had been redone. Make a comment if you’ve stayed there since then. Hotel Website

Marriot Grand Bahama

The Port Lucaya Resort

10 individually colored two-story buildings all making up the resorts perimeter, and includes 160 spacious rooms decorated in a tropical tone with views of the beautiful gardens, the poolside or having private balconies looking over the marina. During spring break this is StudentCity.com headquarters and will host hundreds of college students. The hotel is nice, but nothing amazing; the best part is its location. It is located very close to the “market square” which is the main going out area each night.

Wyndham Viva Fortuna Beach – Freeport

Churchill Drive Road
Freeport - Isla Grand Bahama
Bahamas

The hotel was great because it was all inclusive. It is located right on a beautiful area of the beach and is isolated from everything else. The rooms were nice and the hotel amenities were everything that a ton of college kids needed. It was packed with students from several different SEC schools that were ready to have a good time. The food was good and the drinks were unlimited which led to a wild time. The property has two sit-down restaurants and three bars. The other cool aspect of the all-inclusive is that almost all of the activities are free as well.

Deep Sea Fishing

It’s the Bahamas and it is surrounded with a gorgeous ocean that is filled with huge game fish. It is easy to find the number for a captain and spend the morning fishing. Many of the charters have deals where you can let a restaurant cook the fish you caught and you can bring your friends back for a fresh dinner.
