Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman Overview

Overview

Grand Cayman claims many other tourism attractions other than Seven Mile Beach. Grand Cayman is particularly well known for spectacular scuba diving and snorkeling. The island features many reefs and walls, some of which can be accessed by swimming from shore.

West Bay

Next Level

Theme nights and late-night dance parties are all the rage at the Next Level, which is located just a few blocks off West Bay Road. From American house tunes and Euro-style dance beats, this trendy Seven Miler takes Grand Cayman's dance club scene to the proverbial next level – excuse the pun.

O Bar

One of the trendiest bars on the island, Obar has a New York feel and is a cool place to sip on a red stripe. It has a great dance floor that will be packed with students all week. Located in the Queen's Court Plaza on West Bay Road.

Legendz

One of the most popular bars in Grand Cayman, Legendz draws a huge nightly crowd and keeps them entertained all night with a mixture of local bands and DJ's. The bar also has 11 satellite TVs and is a great place to keep up with March Madness if you are there on Spring Break. They also serve great food with everything from Quesadillas to Sushi. It is located right on Seven Mile Beach in the Cayman Falls Centre and next to the Yoshi Sushi restaurant.

Senor Frog's

This restaurant is so wild during the day that it wouldn't even have to be classified under nightlife. It has your standard overpriced drinks that you would expect from Senor Frog's, but is always packed with students making the most of their time in Grand Cayman. A lot of the people come from cruise ships that park in Grand Cayman for a few hours each day. It is located in on Fort Street (1/2 Block from the new Cruise Ship Terminal). Check out: Senor Frog's

  • Overview

Grand Cayman claims many other tourism attractions other than Seven Mile Beach. Grand Cayman is particularly well known for spectacular scuba diving and snorkeling. The island features many reefs and walls, some of which can be accessed by swimming from shore.

    West Bay

The district of West Bay features a turtle farm . The majority of Green Sea Turtles are raised for their meat, the theory being that this eliminates consumption of wild animals. Some of the farmed turtles are released, and have good survival rates in the wild. The turtle farm also has several rare Blue iguanas and a caiman on display.
West Bay district is also home to a formation of limestone affectionately known to islanders as Hell. Merchandise "from Hell" can be purchased nearby.

    Stingray City

Stingray City, located a short boat ride from the northern end of Grand Cayman, is a series of shallow sand bars where sting rays are found in abundance and visitors can feed, pet, and interact with the animals. The southern stingrays can grow to large sizes (100 cm or more in span) and are quite accustomed to being handled and fed. A trip from a local tour operator will usually include snorkelling in coral gardens before arriving at Stingray City.

    Southern District

In the southern district of Bodden Town is the historic house of Pedro St. James, considered the birthplace of democracy in the Cayman Islands. It is also the oldest known existing stone structure on Grand Cayman. Bodden Town was also the first Capital of the Cayman Islands.Content via Wikipedia

    7 Mile Beach

This is the main attraction for most visitors to Grand Cayman. This is especially true if you are just stopping for a day on a cruise as many students do. Take a look at the crystal clear water and white sandy beaches below.
