Skiing at Beech Mountain, NC

Ski Beech is located 20 miles from Boone, NC, 80 miles from Asheville, NC, 150 miles from Knoxville, TN and 180 miles from Chapel Hill, NC.

It is a ski resort that offers many different things to do. Highlights of the mountain are several more challenging runs, a tube park that can be a lot of fun, and ice skating for those of you who don’t wish to brave the mountain. This is a fun weekend destination as it offers many of the perks of the mountains out west while not costing nearly as much.

Rates are pretty affordable, $38 on the weekdays, and they have a plethora of group rates that make it even more economical for groups of 10 or more.

There is a small town at the base of the mountain that is pretty neat. There is a great restaurant called the Beech Tree Bar.  It has really good food and you can ski straight up to the door and be drinking a beer within minutes of taking off your skis. There is also a cafeteria style restaurant called the Viewhaus and a snack bar called Munchies. In addition to these, there are a couple of restaurants/bars located at the base of the mountain which you can go get a little sloppy after a long day on the slopes. Fraziers Steak House and Nite Club and the Destiny Inn Bar and Grill can both be fun places to enjoy a few beers too.

This is definitely a fun road trip spot and one that you can bring a big group to and have a good time.
