The Crown Pub

The Crown Pub is located on Dickson Street, which intersects the University of Arkansas campus. In the middle of more upscale restaurants and bars, The Crown Pub is the place where a person can truly relax without the stress of being in a crowded bar that charges too much. Although it is small, it is comfortable enough that even on a busy night you don’t feel crowded. Upon proving to the bartender/proprietor that you are 21 he will chat with you about where you’re from, what you’re studying, what you do for a living, etc. as he’s properly pouring your beer, which is a nice deviation from the typical rushed, tight-shirted, you must work for my attention bartender one finds at most places. The Crown Pub only serves imported and certain domestic beers, and on occasion wine, and has the most incredible juke box. One can play 3 songs for $1 (or 15 songs for $5) and can choose from bar standards, such as Elton John, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and AC/DC, or opt for more eclectic options like Tom Waits, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Flaming Lips, Broken Social Scene, and Radiohead. Because of the atmosphere, the bar options, and the juke box, The Crown Pub is one of one of the most fun, stress free bars you can enter on Dickson Street no matter what night of the week it is and is definitely a location that no one should miss.
