Hurricane Katrina Relief

Whatever partying, eating, and shopping you may do while you’re in town, be sure to set aside a little time to see the
parts of the city that Hurricane Katrina devastated. The Gentilly, Eastern New Orleans, Lakeview, and Ninth Ward neighborhoods, among others, are still recovering with varying degrees of success, and can help to give a fuller picture of New Orleans than the areas that are booming or back to normal. Or if you have an extra day or two and are so inclined, you can volunteer with a non-profit like Catholic Charities or Habitat for Humanity helping to rebuild homes for the poor in the city.
