Is also a good way to spend a day.  While deep sea fishing is available, much of the water around Key West is shallow, and these flats offer a great alternative to deep sea fishing.  There is no shortage of charter boats on the island ready to take you fishing.  If you are trying to save some money, it might be worth looking into chartering a boat out of one of the other islands near Key West.
