It is hard to find an event as Fratty as the Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, NC. During the first weekend of May the town turns their attention to golf. The tournament is played at Quail Hollow Country Club which is ridiculously nice.
Beale Street Music Festival - Memphis, TN
The Festival3 days. 4 stages. Music from every genre and people from around the world. Sponsored by Budweiser and Coke, just to name a few, Music Fest is where you and your friends have to be the first weekend in May.
Shepherd Center's Derby Day
Get ready for Mint Juleps, Hats, Bowties and Bourbon.  Join Shepherd Center’s Junior Committee as we recreate the magic of Churchhill Downs at Derby Day 2010! Derby Day has been an Atlanta tradition since 1981. Each year, the event is held on the first Saturday in May to coincide with the Kentucky Derby.
Birmingham Crawfish Boil
This is one of the biggest events in the South and draws college students from all the surrounding areas. Students from Auburn and Alabama frequent the event as something to do when school lets out.
