The Florida Strawberry Festival

The Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida, brings around 500,000 people from all over Florida and the world to celebrate the local strawberry crop by hosting an annual event in the spring that lasts 11 days. The festival includes everything fromĀ  musical performances, local vendors, parade, livestock activities, and a beauty pageant. What else is this festival well-known for? Their famous Strawberry Shortcake of course! The Florida Strawberry Festival is ranked among the Top 40 Fairs in North America

Music
The musical performances are a big part of their festival hosting local artists to more well-known artists like The Band Perry. Each day they have two to three different artists headlining on their main stage. A list of headliner artists can be found here. The headliner concerts are a separate cost from the paid gate admission, however, they do offer free entertainment with your paid admission. They have two different tents, the Borden Dairy Strawberry Tent and Sweetbay Supermarket Showcase Tent, that provide simultaneous entertainment throughout the event ranging from comedians, musicians, to dance performances.

Along with music performances, you can find an array of different on grounds entertainment including magic shows, woodwork and rope making demonstrations, sea lion splash shows, racing pigs, different contests, and more! To see entertainment and activities made specifically for kids, click here.

The Midway is open every day of the festival and opens earlier on the weekends. For kids, they have The Kiddie Corral Rides section just for them.

The Neighborhood Village is dedicated to all the homemadeĀ  and handcrafted items created by those in their community. Every year, they put on a competition for those 18+ that are awarded with monetary prizes and ribbons. Categories include cake decorating, baking, knitting, jewelry, needlework and needlepoint, scrapbooking, and much much more! As a spectator, you are able to view all the entries for display from each competition.
