New Years Eve in New Orleans

Most people only hear about the Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans. Although Mardi Gras here is certainly top notch, locals will tell you that New Years Eve in NOLA is just as good of a time, or even better. Bourbon street is filled with a large variety of people from all over the country, but mostly college aged students.

You can either celebrate on Bourban, listen to bands play in the French Quarter, or have a more low key experience with the locals on Frenchman. They even have their own count down and dropping of the ball, and everyone celebrates in the streets until morning. You should experience it at least once.
