Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour

Right outside of downtown Raleigh, there is a small town community called Historic Oakwood known for their homes that date back from the mid 1800s to the early 1900′s. Once a year, Raleigh holds a Candelight Tour in December where visitors have an opportunity to admire the interior of the some of homes. Many of these homes try to continue the effort to preserve the Victorian architectural style from a century ago.

During the holiday season, visitors are able to take a walk through the eleven properties in the Historic Oakwood neighborhood that. This event is a unique experience for those who are interested in Raleigh’s history and architecture, just needing a new experience in downtown Raleigh or out of pure curiosity.

Tickets do need to be purchased in advanced. More information can be found here. Advance tickets are $15 and day-of tickets are $20.

The Thursday before the Candlelight Tour offers a special Preview Party for those who are residents or friends of residents. It is a way for neighbors to view other homes privately along with having an upscale, black-tie event at a few homes with catered food and beverages.
