Got To Be NC Festival

Got To Be Festival located in the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh offers those of all ages three days of fun to celebrate the North Carolina style. This festival features North Carolina’s agriculture bounty along with music…and get this! General admission is FREE for all ages! Tickets may be purchased for the grandstand events and for the rides and games.

What kind of activities can I expect?
When I say there is something for everyone, there is definitely something for everyone! In the Got to Be NC Agriculture trade show in the Expo Building, you can sample and taste the best foods in NC from the mountains to the coast that are raised here in the state. They also provide sauces, candies, nuts, meats, snacks and beverages. Don’t forget to buy some food and treat your taste buds outside of the festival.

Along with food, you can’t have a festival without music! You can expect a variety of beach, country and bluegrass music that matches that culture and feel of the authentic North Carolina. They even host a bluegrass band competition! At the festival there are several stages with local and regional musicians that are sure to get your feet moving.

The festival also wouldn’t be complete with a carnival! there isn’t a better way to start the summer than a carnival filled with over three dozen rides and carnival foods like hot dogs! This festival can hold you over until the North Carolina State Fair in October! If you want something a little more low key, Got To Be NC provides a trio of antique farm equipment preserved and restored by collectors all around North Carolina and surrounding states. There are over 1,000 pieces of farm equipment on display where you can ask questions to the knowledgeable collectors AND the Natural Horsepower will be on display where you can witness draft horses being tested on their might against the weight of a loaded sled.

Some other notable attractions during the festival include the Wine Expo, Pig Jig, Kidz Corral, Fiber Fest, Animal Encounters, Motorized Muscle and Shriner’s Fish Fry. I told you there is something for everyone! Click here for a list and description of all the attractions!
