Annual MusicFest ‘N Sugar Grove Music Festival
What happens when you get hundreds of bluegrass, old-time, blues, folk and American music lovers, great southern food like BBQ sandwiches and local shop vendors? A great local annual music festival called MusicFest ‘N Sugar Grove based in Sugar Grove, North Carolina only 20 minutes from Appalachian State University on the grounds of the Historic Cove Creek School. On the first weekend of July, talented musicians from all over come together to perform and benefit nonprofit organization, Cove Creek Preservation and Development.

For musicians who would like to join in on the fun, MusicFest ‘N Sugar Grove bring you the Pickin’ Parlor where musicians of all types and ages can join together and jam out!
Not only does MusicFest ‘N Sugar Grove focus on the music, food and good times, they try to do it in a green way. In addition to the main stage, MusicFest created the Solar Stage in 1997 to promote sustainability practices within the community. On this solar-powered stage, local, talented musicians make their appearance. The Solar Stage is powered by “Daisy,” which is a miniature home that draws solar and wind power. It was provided by the Department of Technology and Environmental Design at Appalachian State University.
