If it’s football season and you love the smell of pigskin, then be sure to tailgate and catch a University of Kentucky football game on the weekend.
While you’re visiting on a weekend, you might as well show up for a University of Kentucky midnight hockey game which is always entertaining, especially with the amount of inebriated and hardcore fans that fill the stands.

The Grove is what Ole Miss is known for and is one of the best college football traditions in the South. The players walk through the Grove before every game as part of the walk of Champions which is about two and half hours before the game. This is Southern Hospitality at its finest meaning that everywhere you look you will be offered free food and drinks. This is as elaborate as tailgating gets with flat screen TV’s and chandeliers in some of the tents.

Pull your truck right up on the "beach" and open a cold one. You will most likely need a four wheel drive to get out there, but once you make it, it's a great place to chill out, shoot skeet, make a fire or just look at the stars. This is a perfect place to let a warm spring afternoon turn into a crazy bonfire party at night, but make sure you are careful on your way home because of the police road blocks. Many students go to Sardis to fish, camp, and even water ski behind their four wheelers. Overall, Sardis is a great place to get away and create your fun anyway you can imagine it.
