Carolina vs. Duke Basketball
Carolina at Duke
February 11, 2009
The #1 ranked and national championship contender Tar Heels of North Carolina will invade Cameron Indoor Stadium. This annual meeting will be significant for a few reasons. First, it is likely that this will prove to be the Heels toughest obstacle to running the table this season, at least until the NCAA tournament. Second, this will be the last time that Tyler Hansbrough and the senior class will play at Cameron. Currently, they are 3-0 against the Dukies. If the Heels are victorious this year, I think it is mandatory that the name be changed to Hansbrough Indoor Stadium.

The second battle takes place in Chapel Hill. This game will be the senior day for Hansbrough and his boys and will likely be extremely emotional. Duke is likely the only team that will be able to come into the Smith Center and hang with the Heels. However, after last years defeat without point guard Ty Lawson, you can be the Heels will be ready to give a little payback.
Clemson at Carolina

Why is this game important? Well the Tigers, led by coach Oliver Purnell, will be trying to maintain perfection in Chapel Hill. That’s right, the Tigers are an impressive 0 – 53 when playing basketball in “The Southern Part of Heaven”. With the Tar Heels being far and away the best team in America this year, I would recommend making the road trip up to the game. Get there early and try to catch a glimpse of the Clemson players as they walk off the bus…it will be worth it.
