Working in Vail

If you’re a college student with nothing to do over Christmas break and looking for a way to make money while enjoying the allure of one of the nation’s finest ski resorts… look no further.

Last Christmas break I worked for Vail Resorts as a Grill Cook in their holiday help position.  Though grilling hamburgers, chicken, bratwursts, hot dogs and portobello mushroom sandwiches may not be the finest job ever, it was an inimitable experience. The opportunity to work and ski with students from Brazil, South Africa and Argentina made it out of the ordinary.  $11 an hour wasn’t the drawing card; it was the benefit of having an all inclusive ski pass to Vail and Beaver Creek Resorts for the duration of the Christmas break. After learning that I was required to work a minimum of 2 days a week, I opted to work 4 and ski 3. They even let me have an entire week off to ski with friends that visited.

If you’re interested, go to skijobs.com and click the holiday help caption. It was a unique experience and I’d consider it one of my best from college
