Shopping in The ‘Ham

For everyone who loves to shop when they’re in a new place, Birmingham won’t disappoint!  Shoppers should make their way to downtown Homewood, where almost all of the stores are locally owned, and serve up their own style of southern hospitality. Ladies can find designer jeans and trendy tops at SOCA clothing. A.K.A. Girls Stuff boutique offers stylish accessories, cute gifts, and sassy Mary Phillip’s products.  Buy the perfect gifts at the White Flowers , or shop for contemporary home furnishings at New Environs. Grab a bite at Savage’s bakery that’s been serving Alabama since 1939, or sip some coffee at O’Henry’s. Make sure you sample the cheese plate at O’Carrs, and take home a slice of pizza from Dave’s.  Shoppers will also enjoy the newest addition to downtown Homewood, Soho Square.  Here shoppers will find “So Pink,” a signature Lilly Pulitzer store, Doree, which is stocked full of cute dresses, and SoHo Sweets, a colorful and delicious candy store.

If the mall is more your style be sure to check out the Summit, an outdoor mall full of upscale shops and eating establishments.  With a wide variety of stores ranging from Saks Fifth Avenue to Eddie Bauer there is sure to be something for everyone.
