Shepherd Center Derby Day

An Atlanta tradition since 1981, Derby Day is considered a highlight of Atlanta’s spring social calendar, attracting thousands of people each year, as well as hundreds of sponsors.  The event is held on the first Saturday in May to coincide with the Kentucky Derby, and is organized by the Shepherd Center’s Junior Committee.  All proceeds generated from the event go to support Shepherd Center’s Therapeutic Recreation Program.

The Derby Day event is held at Foxhall Farm, a 1,200–acre horse farm bordering the Chattahoochee River in Douglas County, just outside Atlanta.

Guests enjoy an afternoon of fun, sun and beverages, watch the Kentucky Derby on big screens, enjoy barbecue and bid on travel packages and other items in live and silent auctions. Two live bands play during the day and into the evening.

·    Barbeque and beverages (Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic)
·    Live and silent auctions
·    Two live bands
