Double Decker Arts Festival at Ole Miss
The Double Decker Arts Festival is definitely the most exiting weekend at Ole Miss in the spring. “Taking its name from the town’s authentic double decker bus imported from England in 1994, the festival brings together visitors and residents alike for a daylong celebration of music, food, and the arts held on the picturesque Courthouse Square of Oxford Mississippi.” Double Decker has been known to draw more than 50,000 people in attendance; making it another Mississippi spring day that you cannot miss!
The events include anything from chilling on the square where you can listen to great music, sampling food from “The Taste of Oxford”, taking a gander at the art displays scattered through out the famous square, or even heading down to the old ball field for a little baseball at Ole Miss’ newly renovated baseball park “Swayze Field”. Double Decker is a day of Culture and Community that comes together in a full day of events for you to enjoy. Do not miss the 14th annual celebration of the Double Decker Festival in April, right here in beautiful and unique Oxford, Mississippi.
To start off the day on the right foot, head out early for the “Spring Run” which includes two routes throughout Oxford. A 10K run or a 5K run/walk that meander through the towns beautiful streets, the campus of Ole Miss, and of course the downtown square. It is a great way to see the town of Oxford and get some good exercise before the day of festivities begins.
