Birmingham Crawfish Boil
This is one of the biggest events in the South and draws college students from all the surrounding areas. Students from Auburn and Alabama frequent the event as something to do when school lets out. It is fun for students not only because of the delicious crawfish, but the huge party that goes on all day. Some of the biggest bands in the country even come to entertain the screaming crowd.
History of the Event
The event started 18 years ago in one of the founder’s back yards. It began growing and growing and now has over 40,000 attendees each year. In 2006, Blues Traveler, Live, Sister Hazel, Better Than Ezra, Gin Blossoms, Blue October, POD, Jason Mraz and President’s of the USA performed. In 2007 the event drew over 45,000 people to watch Barenaked Ladies, Collective Soul, Cheap Trick, Hinder, Akon, Spin Doctors, Papa Roach,
Fuel and Soul Asylum.
Now, It’s Rockin!
In 2008-2009 Crawfish Boil was a huge success with superstars like Fergie and 3 Doors Down that rocked the stage! Other great acts included T-Pain, Gavin DeGraw, Seether, Flo Rida, Corey Smith, Candlebox. The U.S. Women’s Olympic soccer team even stopped by to see the crowd.
