If you happen to be one who likes a good piano bar, you won’t find one better than Savannah Smiles, located close to River Street, but up the stairs towards downtown. Bring plenty of cash for tips, and you can pretty much get them to play anything you want – be careful though, they wisely take advantage of drunken school pride and will orchestrate a bidding war for which fight song they play. Other places we’d recommend include Bar Bar (City Market), Mercury Lounge (hit or miss depending on what crowd the music brings; upstairs and downstairs are two very different scenes), and Savannah Blues (City Market - must enjoy live blues music, pool, and smoke).
