Ahh River Street

Savannah is a great place to go if you’ve never been. A town that is as full of history as it is bars, you’re sure to find a few places to get into trouble. There are pretty much three distinct areas, each with their own unique appeal.  You have River Street, whose cobblestones play host to the famous Mardi Gras-esque St. Patrick’s day celebration each year. From there, head up any of a number of steep stone staircases to the downtown area, one of the largest designated historic districts in the country. The recently restored City Market is a little strip of its own located within the downtown area. You should make it a point to do some bar-hopping and make it to all three – no cab required.
